'Telugu Film Industry will Stay in Hyderabad'

Amid wide talk that T-town is shifting its base to Visakhapatnam, TDP MP from Rajahmundry and Movie Artistes' Association president Murali Mohan has quashed those speculations. Setting the record straight, Murali Mohan ruled out the option of shift of Telugu film industry from Hyderabad. Speaking at a filmy function, Murali Mohan made crucial comments.

"It took nearly 15 years to shift Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad and to settle down in Hyderabad. Still, we're depending on Chennai and Mumbai for stunts, music and choreography. We're yet to establish our own in full-fledged manner. Meanwhile, people of Telangana too don't want us to move out of here. Since we're making Telugu films for Telugu people in two States, I don't think we shouldn't move from Hyderabad. But in long-term, Industry may also set up its units in Vizag and Rajahmundry."

Speculations were rife that Telugu film industry is going to move out of Hyderabad and would split into AP Film Industry, Telangana Film Industry. With stalwarts like Murali Mohan, senior producer KS Rama Rao clearing the air, there is a sigh of relief among movie buffs, associated industries. As of now, T-town is based out of Hyderabad itself.
