A total of 24 buildings illegally built on (Ayyappa Society) Gurukul Ghatkesar lands were raised to ground today. As per official records, nearly 210 acres of the 654 acres of the Gurukul Trust has been encroached.
Many are among the illegal beneficiaries of the Gurukul trust land like former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy brother - Somasekhar Reddy, YS Vivekananda Reddy and then transport minister Mahender Reddy, N Convention centre of Nagarjuna. But not all of them are demolished, say GHMC officials.
On August 2, 2011,TRS leader Kavitha has staged a dharna against demolitions of Gurukul trust buildings, but today she is keeping quiet. Press clipping shows how she made political mileage then.
