The first day of the first session of new State of Andhra Pradesh has begun on bright note on Thursday at 11.52 AM in Assembly Hall, Nampally in Hyderabad. The first day witnessed many anxious moments including exchange of greetings between CM Chandra Babu Naidu and Opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy. First House Leader Chandra Babu Naidu has taken the oath followed by opposition leader Jagan. Deputy CMs Nimmakyala Chinnarajappa, KE Krishna Murthy, Ministers CH Ayyanna Patrudu, Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy, Devineni Uma, Paritala Sunitha and others taken oath in order.
Out of 175 MLAs only 166 MLAs have taken oath on the first day. While Pathivada Narayanaswamy Naidu has already taken oath as Protem Speaker, administered by Governor Narsimhan, six others could not take oath for various reasons. The six MLAS who are yet to take oath are Ravindra Reddy, Sai Prathap Reddy, Jyothula Nehru, V Satyanarayana Murthy, Shyamsunder Sivaji and GV Anjaneyulu. Even before swearing in, Nandigama MLA Tangirala Prabhakara Rao (TDP) and Shobha Nagireddy (Allagadda) have passed away.

The house mourned for their passing away and recalled their services. The House was later adjourned for Friday (Today). TDP senior leader-Sattenapalli MLA Kodela Siva Prasad Rao is all set to be elected as the first Speaker of AP Assembly Today. On Saturday, June 21th, Governor Narsimhan will address the both houses and the house will discuss on Governor's address on June 23, 24 (as June 22 Sunday is Holiday). The first session of AP Assembly will come to end on June 24.
