New generation star directors are taking more time than expected to complete a movie unlike our golden age directors. We have people like Dasari, K Raghavendra Rao, Kodi Ramakrishna and Kodanda Ramireddy who made more than 100 movies in their career. Is there anyone among the present generation to touch even 50 mark in his career?
Star directors like Rajamouli, Trivikram and Sreenu Vytla have only 50-50 chances of making at least 50 movies throughout their career. Except Puri Jagan who made 27 films in 14 years, others are lagging behind. Rajamouli directed only 9 movies in 13 years, while Trivikram helmed 6 flicks in 12 years. In 15 years span, Sreenu Vytla made only 13 movies while Boyapati Sreenu directed only 5 movies in ten years. At that rate, how many flicks our directors could make in their life time? Not more than 30 movies except in the case of Puri Jagan.
However, star directors like Boyapati are saying that these days heroes are not ready to wrap up flicks in less time and with low budget. This is now allowing any star-director to make a movie for every six months, he felt.
