It’s known that all the Cable Television operators under the shade of Telangana MSO Association decided to block the telecast of two Telugu channels - TV9 and ABN. Now the issue of Telangana MSOs has reached the court. A Lawyer from telangana Sunkari Janardhan Goud filed a petition in court for telecasting the malicious content on Telangana legislatures. Upon hearing the petition the court directed police to register a FIR under sections 504, 506 of IPC and under relevant sections 4A, 6 of Cable and Network Act.
The Magistrate also directed the police to file a case against TV9 boss Ravi Prakash for allegedly insulting the Telangana MLA’s. In the petition, the advocate mentioned that a programme titled 'Bullet News' telecast at 8.30 p.m on June 12 has insulted Telangana political leaders. Other side the issue triggered a row at national level. The Union Government on Wednesday asked the Telangana government to submit a detailed report over the issue.
It is said that broadcasting Minister Prakash Javdekar had not only asked for a detailed report, but also asked the Telangana chief secretary to submit the type of actions being taken to resolve the ban issue on these two channels. It is evident that there was a special mention about the alleged malicious transmission of propaganda by KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, in the state assembly during the just concluded assembly session
