Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has placed the proposal of 4 Prestigious Institutions each in Vijayawada-Guntur & Vishakhapatnam circuits, and 3 Others in Tirupati which is going to be the lifeline of Rayalseema region from now. All these 11 National institutions would be coming up in AP in accordance to the AP Reorganisation Act.
Naidu has given equal prominence to all the 3 regions (South Andhra, North Andhra & Rayalseema) while finalizing the locations for these 11 institutions.
Vijayawada-Guntur Circuit: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) - [200 acres]; National Institute of Technology (NIT) - [300 acres]; Agricultural University (AU) - [500 acres] and National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) - [10 acres].
Visakhapatnam Circuit: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) - [200 acre]; International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) - [100 acres]; Tribal University - [500 acres]; Petroleum University [200 acres].
Tirupati Circuit: Central University [500 acres]; Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - [300 acres]; Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) - [200 acres].
Currently, The ground work to find out suitable locations is progressing and the district collectors of the respective districts have been given the responsibility to allot lands as early as possible.
