New born State Telangana, which is all set to elect its first government, has successfully and peacefully voted in 119 Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies. The India's 29th State witnessed 68% of voting turnout till 5 PM, according to Chief Electoral Officer of AP Bhanwarlal. People of all walks of life have cast their vote notwithstanding high temperatures.
Interestingly, rural voters were relatively enthusiastic While Khammam voters were quite enthusiastic and saw a heavy turn out of 75 %, Hyderabad recorded least turn out with just 53%. Medak and Nalgonda saw 74% of voting and stood second in the list followed by Warangal with 73%. Below is the list of percentage of voting recorded district-wise in 10 districts of Telangana.
