The Congress party has its presence in Andhra from a long time than Telangana. Under Nizam’s Hyderabad there was no entry for such a national party which was then fighting for freedom while Nizam was close to the British.
In fact Congress under Gandhi held key meetings at Vijayawada and Kakinada and this was the bond which Sonia reportedly shattered with a hasty and forceful last minute decision regarding AP bifurcation which has hurt the sentiments like anything. With an upsurge in rural voters, there are speculations that TRS may be the winner in Telangana while either Jagan or Babu will sweep Andhra Pradesh. Congress is facing a washout in Seemandhra while its chances in Telangana are very bleak.
So analysts say that this may be the biggest political suicide by any national party and Congress may have committed the same mistake which it did in Tamil Nadu thirty-five years ago and it never managed to come back ever since.
