A fast-track court on Wednesday delivered its first judgement in AP under Nirbhaya Act by sentencing Two Youth to 20 years jail term for raping a 22-Year-Old Woman Techie in Hyderabad.
Abhaya, the victim, who is waiting for an auto-rickshaw outside Inorbit Mall in October 18th last year was offered lift by Sathish (Driver of Car owned by Businessman) and Venkateswarlu (Cab Driver) to drop her at her hostel. The two youth took her to Kolluru in Medak and raped her. Later, she was dropped at her hostel.
Cases were booked against the two accused under sections of Kidnapping, Wrongful Confinement and Gang Rape of Indian Penal Code. A charge sheet was filed in the fast track court in January this year. After examining the scientific evidence and the version of the witnesses, Court sentenced Sathish (30) and Venkateswarlu (28) to 20 years in prison. The convicted are also fined to the tune of Rs 1,000 each.
