Facts behind Vikrama Simha postponement

Rajinikanth starrer 'Vikrama Simha' which was earlier scheduled for May 9th release got postponed to May 23rd just two days before the release. While the makers claims delay is due to technical issues, There seems to be few untold facts behind the last minute changes.

Vikram Simha director Soundarya Rajinikanth: "Due to technical reasons we couldn't get the 3D version to theaters on time. Our movie will release on 23rd May! Need all your support!!!"

Producers EROS International Official Statement: "Eros International Media Ltd will release the eagerly awaited KOCHADAIIYAAN - The Legend, a Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited production, directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin, worldwide in cinemas on May 23rd 2014, two weeks after its previously announced date of May 9th 2014 to cater to the demand for multiple language and the 2D and 3D versions to release the same day."

Facts behind Vikrama Simha postponement:

1) EROS demanded 70 percent of 1st Week collections from Exhibitors. Usually, There will be a 60-40 agreement between Producer & Exhibitor. Theatre Owners objected EROS proposal as 1st Week revenues are crucial for any big star flicks and only few films manage to draw crowds from 2nd week.

2) Financial Issues: Budget - Rs 125 crore. A private bank in Chennai moved the court complaining 'Vikrama Simha' producers haven't paid over Rs 40 crore loan obtained from them.

3) Distributors & Exhibitors feel Audiences mayn't get attracted to 'Vikrama Simha' as they will be witnessing a 3D model that resembles the Superstar and not Rajinikanth himself. In India, Animation is being still treated as a Cartoon.
