The only state that Congress has strong political base in south is Andhra Pradesh. The state is always safe political zone for Congress even after the formation of TDP in 1983. Congress party was able to secure minimum vote bank even in worst ever defeat in 1994 General Elections. Party had won 33.85% voting and won 26 Assembly Segments in the state. Now, its million dollar questions whether 130 Year old Congress able to cross two digits in SA tally or even lower than that.
SA Congress leadership hasn’t showed any interest to review on postmortem in SA elections. They calculated internally that few of their leaders like Raghuveera, Botsa, Balaraju and Kanna have chance to win in this elections. SA President Raghuveera is unwilling to come to Gandhi Bhavan to review the situation. Some of its strong leaders like Vatti, Gaade and Dokka intentionally skip to contest in these elections. Most of them joined in other parties for their political future. BJP’s Venkaiagh Naidu predicts not even single Parliament Segment to the Congress in SA. Congress has no candidates to contest in most of the Segments in SA.
After seeing the huge turnout in polling in SA, Congress party is ready to face worst ever political situation. Regional parties (TDP and YSRCP) have completely dominated Congress in SA. It seems that Congress situation in the state similar like in TN now. Congress should blame it’self for this situation. Congress who wants to put check TDP President CBN now falls in its own grave. Telangana people also not go towards Congress even after granting the state. It’s difficult for the Congress to rise again in SA for next two terms.
