The YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy has proved that he is a force to reckon with when it comes to the general elections this time in Andhra Pradesh. Though speculations were rife that the Jagan wave has come down, it does not look to be true.
This was evident in the manner in which his party won second place in terms of MPTC’s and ZPTC’s in Seemandhra region and how it gave a tough fight to cadre based TDP. A key support seems to have come from the Reddy community. The manner in which YSRCP won Kurnool, Cuddapah, Prakasam and Nellore shows that Jagan has won the whole hearted support of his community and he has more or less wrested the Reddy vote bank completely from Congress.
This victory and a strong standing in Chittoor, Guntur and Srikakulam also proves that no one can predict the winner easily unless all the results come out on May 16. But if the Reddy bastion has indeed supported Jagan this time then he stands a good chance.
